Savor Albuquerque kicks off today and runs through June 12, a fairly new-to-the-scene festival of art, culture and cuisine. You can find events at the Kimo Theatre (anyone check out their brand-spanking new retro sign?), Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque, and one of our favorites, ABQ Trolley Co.
National Free Fishing Day
Saturday, June 4, is National Free Fishing Day, so grab your fishing poles and bait and head out to one of our state’s many public fishing holes including Tingley Beach. No license is required to fish at Tingley Beach and most public fishing spots around the state for this day only.
The Downtown Grower’s Market, held every Saturday morning 7-11AM through October 29, is already under way, and you’ll find a lot more than fresh, locally grown veggies and fruit. The market, held at Robinson Park, also features local artwork and live musical performances as well.
New Update for APPCityLife
If you haven’t received your notice from the Apple App Store yet, our new major update for APPCityLife has been approved and is ready for our users. If you haven’t received your notification, you can delete the app from your device and re-download from the App Store to explore our new CityLife guide for Santa Fe and to check out our brand new look for the Albuquerque guide. We’ve added more functionality to our notices, too, so now a badge will appear on the notices section when there are notices you haven’t read (including giveaways, promoted events, and emergency announcements from the city). We’ll be adding geo-location to our notices soon so that you can map new promotions and events around you.
We’re also almost ready to launch our first set of iPhone apps developed for local businesses like Bookworks, Runway Apparel, and Alluraderm. If you’d like to have an iPhone app developed for your business and create a mobile storefront in APPCityLife, we’ve hired a new team to help you. Email our sales director at firstname.lastname@example.org to get started.
