Happy Mother’s Day, ABQ!

We start out this week’s Fresh Brew for ABQ with something you should do next week. Anyone else notice that next Friday is Friday the 13th? We found the perfect way to spend it:

Tours of Old Town and ABQ Trolley have teamed up to bring you a 90-minute creepy, scary ride aboard Albuquerque’s cool open air trolley.

Ok, so maybe it won’t be scary, but you’ll tour some of Albuquerque’s most haunted sites with trained ghost hunters. We think this is a great way to spend a date (what better excuse to snuggle up?), a family outing or showing the town to weekend guests.

Mother’s Day

Here’s a great, big shout-out to all of our moms – Happy Mother’s Day!  Whether you’re looking for a way to spoil your own mother (or you want to spoil yourself), you can find a great collection of things to do from one of our favorite local writers, Aileen O’Catherine. The Isotopes are hosting a special Mother’s Day event beginning at 11:30 AM, or you might consider the Mother’s Day Brunch at the ABQ BioPark Aquarium. And the annual ABQ BioPark Zoo Concert will feature Riders in the Sky, who stepped in after the closure of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.
