It’s the annual Gathering of Nations this weekend at the UNM Arena, the Pit, bringing together 3,000 participants for dancing and singing competitions, the crowning of Miss Indian World, and an Indian Traders Market. Free TV and Computer Recycling Rally 2011

One of our iPhone app sponsors, Goodwill Industries of New Mexico, is teaming up with Comcast to host a free e-waste and TV recycling rally this Saturday, 9 AM – 1 PM, at the San Mateo location. They’ll be accepting Televisions, Computers and Monitors, Printers, Cell Phones, Personal Electronics, Small Appliances, VCRs, DVD Players and Stereo Equipment in any condition. Note: no full size appliances are being accepted.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Sunday morning at 7:30 AM, crowds of participants will walk 5 miles beginning at Cottonwood Mall to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors and to support the American Cancer Society’s mission. You can find the 12 annual event’s entry form online. If you’re planning to be out and about, be aware that the walkers will be moving along Alameda Boulevard all morning, so plan your route accordingly.
