Fun for the Whole Family – Isotopes, Founders Day, and Acrobats

If you’re looking for excuses to get out and do something as a family, you’ll find plenty to do this weekend.

Saturday, the Balloon Museum hosts a special Family FunDay from 2-4 PM and the City of Albuquerque hosts a 305th Birthday Celebration in the Old Town Plaza with their Founders Day Fiesta beginning at noon until 5:30 PM. You can find details on both events by visiting the new events calendar feed in our iPhone app’s Play tab. And what’s more fun than a night of baseball with the family? You can catch the opening week action of this season’s Albuquerque Isotopes all weekend as they take on the Omaha Royals here at home with evening games on Friday and Saturday and an early afternoon start to Sunday’s game. $10-$30

The Peking Acrobats perform twice on Sunday (3 PM and 7:30 PM) at Popejoy Hall with their 25th Anniversary Tour. $22-$35.

And this sounds like a very good cause worth getting out and supporting: the First Annual Pink Ribbon Mixer will be held Saturday at Sandia Resort and Casino, hosted by the Cleaning for a Reason Foundation, a nonprofit group which provides cancer patients with free cleaning services.
